The retail and hospitality sectors bring life to our neighbourhoods, they create wealth and jobs, they build communities and are an essential part of our collective identity.

We support local commerce with measures to promote the economic recovery and initiatives to boost neighbourhood life and the commercial fabric.

One of these measures is the consumer voucher scheme Bonus Consum, which aims to incentivise the consumption of local products, services and the use of local restaurants in 2021.

We know that consumer habits are changing, and the internet is a part of our lives. But this does not mean that we have to shop on gigantic platforms that pay no taxes and do nothing to promote local commerce. For this reason, we are launching BCNMarket, an on-line store for all the city's establishments.

The strength of our neighbourhoods lies in their shops, bars and restaurants. A strength that we want to and need to preserve if we are to make our city a more human, more sustainable and more cohesive place.
