Speech of the day 25/11/2022

My message for 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
Today is 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
It is an important day and we must remember that in recent years there have been massive mobilisations led by younger generations to denounce violence and also to push for progress in legislation and policies against sexism.
And progress has been made, which certainly explains why there have been reactions in recent times, reactions from those who do not want to lose privileges, reactions from the hate speech of the extreme right, who want us divided and at home. And that is something we must not allow today.
Because feminism, fortunately, is plural. That is the virtue of a living movement aimed at inspiring hope.
So let's highlight the plurality of feminism and not be afraid to have all the necessary debates, inside the movement. But let's be united and move forward together on the outside, today and every day.
Let’s remember that at least 1,170 women have been murdered as a result of gender violence since 2003, the year when the number of such victims began to be counted.
Let's therefore move forward together and united, in the face of male violence, acts that are neither relative nor debatable acts, but which have a name..
